Thanks for a good time

When Matt and I broke up, it was about 3 weeks before my birthday. In what I can only assume was an attempt to get back in my good graces, he sent me a card and 2 tickets to see Gov't Mule at Navy Pier this past Monday night. After a short moral struggle over what I should do with the tickets (give them back or keep them?), I decided to accept them as a consolation prize...and invite my other ex-boyfriend, Joe, as my date.

Joe and I have remained good friends, even after a somewhat tumultuous break-up scenario. He is one of my favorite people in the whole world and I don't think I have had so much fun in a very long time. The show started off with one of my favorite songs, "Thorazine Shuffle", and I swooned over the cover of "Maybe I'm Amazed." All in all, it was probably the best Mule show I have ever seen and I couldn't have picked anyone better to share the night with me. It was perfect.

So...thanks Matt! I had a really nice time...without you.
